Happy Spring, Everyone! We couldn’t think of a better time to whip out our proverbial “grand opening” giant scissors than just hours before the most refreshing, hopeful season of the year officially begins. Welcome to the launch of design-muse.com!
In some respects, today marks day one…our very first blog entry. On the other hand, we’re hardly the new kids on the block when it comes to understanding and participating in the wonderful world of design. Design Muse is a labor of love and our chance to tackle some things we don’t normally do (web design, for example) in hopes of sharing our experiences and expertise. You can read more about our professional background and who we are in the About section, but we’ll boil down some of the most important information for you real quick.
My mother and I founded Design Muse when we realized we had a lot of terrific information to share and nowhere to share it. Between her experiences as the president and founder of a decorative painting and interior finishing company, Lillian’s Paintbrush, and my love of writing, beautiful things, spending money and saving money (very paradoxical, I know)- we knew we had some fun ideas! We spent the past few months reading and enjoying other design blogs and said, “why not us and why not now?”. After no reasonable answer to either question could be found, we started brainstorming on what exactly we wanted Design Muse to be. We knew we had the ability and desire to create something interesting, original and relevant and we hope that’s what you find here as the blog progresses.
It may not seem like there’s a lot to see just yet, but we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly this page is chocked full of design ideas, bargains, and advice that will transform your home. You can consider us your new secret weapon (though we hope we’re the kind of secret you can’t help but tell).
